Cooking with The Derelict: Thai Steak and Mint Skewers

Posted by: The Derelict  :  Category: Cooking with The Derelict

This is a pretty simple one. It involves nice rare london broil, mint and a jalapeno lime sauce. Check out the video for a step by step.

Here is the recipe. Remember, I doubled it up in the video.

But I can cook, and pretty well too. Tonight we are gonna start something new — Cooking with The Derelict. Just because you are a guy who is into technology or sports or whatever that’s no reason to not be able to cook. It just takes practice, besides chicks dig it. Nearly every girlfriend I’ve had, the deal was sealed with a fine home cooked meal. Boy do I feel bad for some of the older girlfriends, I used to not be so great in the kitchen.

PRACTICE!

Anyway, we are having a Halloween party at the house tomorrow, so I am cooking up a storm. On the menu tonight ‘Thai Chicken Spring Rolls’, ‘Thai Steak and Mint Skewers’, and ‘Chicken Satay’. Appetizers are my favorite kind of food to make, and well that just works out for parties. This is my first time trying to record myself while cooking, I am sure to sound like a goon.

Like my girlfriend’s father says to me: “You are gonna make a good wife for someone someday”

And there I go, already sounding rather goon-ish.

I miss bacon

I used to love bacon. Just check out this cool bacon suitcase! I would eat it every day, sometimes on grilled cheese, sometimes all by itself. I just couldn’t get enough of the pure strips of pork perfection. That all changed last December when I saw the ‘How It’s Made’ on Bacon (see the video below). All I can say is some things are better left without us knowing how they are made.

Ok now to the point. Crispy bacon from the microwave is not a myth. I have made it with this device, and it is great every time. The problem is it douches the inside of your microwave with bacon juice. You know, your vegetarian girlfriend’s favorite thing to see when she opens up the microwave.

But look what I found, a solution that provides crispy, mess-free microwave bacon cooking. WowBacon. Pretty cool idea. Pretty queer name.
