Seriously this trend of remaking the best movies of the 80′s with new shitty actors has to end! I just read that they are trying to remake The Karate Kid, with Jackie Chan and Will Smith’s son Jaden. Is nothing sacred?

You know if the first one sucked or our film technology was not on par with the vision of the film, then yeah remaking a movie is perfectly acceptable. Here is an example:

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – That TV series in 81′ the movie in 84′ both had the right story, but the graphics and effects needed for the space scenes…well it didn’t exist yet. So when they remade it in 2005 (w/ Mos Def) well it turned out great! Well done!

But what the hell is the excuse with The Karate Kid? It was one of the best movies of the 80′s and I don’t really see a thing wrong with it. In fact one of the parts I really like is the simplicity of the 80′s, without all the cell phones and internets of today. If they remake The Karate Kid, that  would be like them trying to remake Ghostbusters! They aren’t trying to remake Ghostbusters, are they!? Apparently they are.

Those fucking bastards.

Back to School: Supposedly staring Cedric “The Entertainer”. No Rodney, No Downey Jr, No Oingo Boingo!? Fuck that.

Short Circuit: Are you asshats fucking mad? How could you even consider remaking this? Same writers as the first, they just want to utilize new film technology…but why? Oh to put more fuel in their Yachts.

Weird Science: No word on who they are casting…but they will surely not be the Gary and Wyatt I know and love. And furthermore, this was made back when computers were considered to be limitless boxes of magic…times have changed.

There are more like Top Gun, Footloose, Fame and pretty much every other movie made in the 80′s good or bad. I guess this goes to show that the movies are more about making money than doing something you love and entertaining people.

The way things are looking we may not have too many US automakers by then anyway, once our bailout for them fails to change anything. You can’t plug up a hole in a glass by pouring more water in it, so how can you fix companies that are hemorrhaging money by throwing more money at them?

Unless they change their ‘business as usual’ nothing will change…

Cool Mini Cooper though…

The restaurant we ended up at that night was Tres Pesos, on Woodlawn Road in Charlotte. Not much to look at from the outside, and unfortunately that is the best thing I can say about it. It is not that what I got tasted bad, in fact I thought their Carne Asada was pretty good for NC (and I used to live in California where the real stuff is)! The problem is anyone who ordered anything with Chicken in it got a first class ticket to the emergency room. And I don’t mean 1 or 2 people from our party of 8, how about more like 5. What this means is if you go there in a party of 8, you have a 62.5% chance of being carried out, and not because of too many tequila shots.

OK, that is an exaggeration, you would not be carried out on the spot, because whatever it was they had took about 24 hours to incubate in their system. So what I meant to say is, there is a 62.5% chance that some one will be driving you to the ER within 48 hours. And that is just what I had to do with my girlfriend when she started puking and had not stopped after 7 hours. Thankfully after a number of IV’s in her arm and some anti-nausea shots she was able to go back home and rest. However she has been passed out in bed for the last 2 days, too weak to get up. All because we wanted some Chicken Tacos.

Anyway in case you were wondering Tres Pesos passed their health inspection on11/13/2008 with a 97.5. As nice of a score as that is, it doesn’t change the fact that they poisoned 5 people last week. That we know of. Of course we notified the health department about this, and one hospital is cooperating with them to provide stool samples that were taken from one of the sick individuals. After all they still need to determine if it was bad chicken, improperly handled chicken or good chicken handled by a person not washing their hands or sick. I can’t wait to hear the results. Will post em if I get em.

Yeah just checking. This fucker is crazy. I can assure you that even people who are not gun toting moose strippers don’t care what they do with Jews and blacks. That is kind of how it has always been. Incidentally, I am Jewish and I think this guy is a fucking nutbar. What’s more is he used to be a federal judge, who was convicted of corruption and accepting bribes in 1989. He was of course removed from the bench and then pardoned by Clinton. The best part is that is we elected him to congress in 1992.

Apparently we are in a ‘financial crisis’ and no one wants to be the the “too little too late” candidate. So now we get a bunch of “I’m here and making a difference, see me? I am right here! HERE!, and yes I care about the little people.”

So John McCain is off to Washington to fix the economy make Obama look inept! He wants to postpone all debates and campaigning for now. Obviously he doesn’t want sound bites from that overshadowing the sound bites of him fixing our economy.

I don’t see how one has to do with the other though. He should still be able to do his ‘day job’ with plenty of time left over to have a debate in the evening. Honestly I don’t think McCain cares about the financial crisis. I think he cares about looking like he cares…more than Obama.

I was just reading this article on CNN that states that Obama contacted McCain before his ‘drop everything’ announcement, wanting to put out a bi-partisan statement defining what needs to be done to resolve the crisis. McCain saw this as an opportunity to look like the proactive hero, and he took it. Too bad for him that most people can see right through it.

Anyway, I think David Letterman sums it up really nicely. The economy is about to explode!
